Six Ways to Refresh Your Marketing with a Web Site Update

are you only registering dot com domain names for your businessIf you look at old versions of your Web site through Archive.org’s Way Back Machine, I’m sure you’ll notice that its appearance has changed for the better.

Or does it look the same as it did when it was first launched?

Improvements make a big difference to increase industry status, client attraction, and referral business.

Here’s a list of changes to consider as the New Year approaches.

  • Template - Pre-made and custom versions run the gamut to update your Web site’s layout and color scheme.
  • Video - If you haven’t yet created a visual welcome or similar content, choose a clip from You Tube or another source (with permission) to show until you record your own.
  • Podcast/Audio - Are industry participants more interested in hearing your welcome rather than watching a video? Review the options to add this listening device.
  • Newsletter - Let visitors know about and subscribe to your Ezine on the home page. Offer a subscription incentive, if possible, and let subscribers know about its frequency, length, and content.
  • Blog - Keeping visitors aware of industry changes is often conveyed through this space.
  • Social Media - I’ve seen LinkedIn, Facebook, and other community tags on Web sites to encourage participation.
  • Sometimes it’s best to go outside of your industry to consider new ways to make your Web site a destination. For example, I’m not part of a musical group, but some bands’ Web sites are my muse to update my own. I also visit legal, wedding, and licensed merchandise sites.

Web site updates are critical to the marketing process. How often do you add, edit, or rotate changes on your site?

I believe that change is the only thing which can engage people for a long span. Its human nature who wants something fresh and unique, nobody has seen before. I would tend to agree with you that B2B companies should refresh their marketing campaigns and should adapt the latest technologies like twitter and youtube to promote their biz. Twitter and Facebook are popular in this era and the future seems welcoming. In fact I would recommend people to spend time instead of money. Make your first New Year resolution by rearranging your site and strategy.

    Hello Sara,

Time is absolutely beneficial in creating a welcoming online space for new visitors and ongoing followers.

Web site changes are the genesis for relaunches, news releases, and an expanded reach to convince anyone interested in the site’s topic to bookmark it and visit often.

Holding on to the website design for years can hurt your business. You need to stay up to date with the trends in website design and social media. Check out other websites that you can get inspiration from. and most importantly, you need to ensure that the big change won’t affect your website’s usability.

    Hello Girlie,

Your feedback reminds me of times when I find Web sites that still have a Microsoft FrontPage 98 template attached. Talk about hurting one’s business.

I’m a proponent of looking outside of an industry, as well as competitive sites, for updating inspiration. Designs that include both sides are great for enhancing visitors’ experiences.

Nice information! I am not sure that by updating your website will improve your market or not. But I have noticed that consumerelectronicsdir.com has improved their market after they update their website. I am a regular visitor of this site and I think its market has expanded with the update of their site. I think it is a nice move to increasing market.

Online Marketing has become now so important for all people who are connected with the online business. This article is very nice. It is right defined that we must update our website on daily basis to keep the concentration of our regular customers on our website.
