Two Newsworthy Ways to Capture Attention
Each Wednesday, my local newspaper highlights the names of business people who were recently hired or promoted at an area firm. It also features news about consultants recently contracted by local businesses.
Sometimes a photo of the person appears next to the announcement, and other times a picture of the business’s store front is shown.
Large firms often submit their news to the media, but these columns are also open to solo and small business owners. Why not spread your good news throughout the region the next time you secure a new contract, sponsor an event, or appear on television?
Each newspaper contains an informational box telling you how to submit stories, or the box provides the section’s Email address for media distribution. Look at the columns to review the news structure before crafting your own.
Such columns are good for another reason: finding new movers and shakers that may want to do business with you.
When you get the “go ahead” for your next project, let your local newspaper broadcast the news. It’s time for everyone to know about your latest accomplishment and the reason why they need to connect with you.
