During my attendance at Book Expo America, which I shared with you here, I noticed that practically every publisher promoted their firm with an imprinted bag.
I can recall two bags made from plastic while the rest were canvas keepsakes.
Each bag was distinct in color and size. One I brought back to the office was a gorgeous shade of orange, and it had a drawstring closure woven into the bag beneath the generic handles.
Two others were laminated on the front and back with the cover of one of their publications.
The most-coveted bag seemed to be one distributed by McGraw-Hill. It was handed out sporadically, and not everyone could get one.
My badge was checked to make sure I was not a publisher or another category that didn’t qualify to receive the oversized red bag with a zippered pocket in the front and zipper closure on top.
I saw one attendee holding no less than 20 bags between both his hands and found myself wondering if he came to increase his business or bag collection.
Seeing these imprinted holders made me think about all of the products that are available to us for promotion. Aside from bags there are pens, note cubes, tissues, disposable cameras, and caps to name a few items.
Which promotional product do you find to be one that commits your business to clients’ memories?

I don’t have any products like that for my business, but when I go to do speaking engagements, I always take copies of my book to market.
