Does an Adult School Catalog Contain Your Next Great Marketing Idea?

by Shirley George Frazier on May 1, 2009

look through adult school catalogs for marketing ideasWhile creating a new home study course for individuals who want to teach niche topics to a wide audience, I was reminded of how many business ideas are available through catalogs published by adult schools and similar learning facilities.

The reminder came as I reviewed a folder in my office of brochures collected during my travels to U.S. cities including Chicago, Miami, Denver, Los Angeles, and New York, with the latter being just 10 minutes east of my office.

These courses, with a teaching timetable anywhere between one night and six weeks, feature great topics and descriptions that any of us can mold to match our offerings.

Best of all, the catalogs keep you up to date on what general audiences want to know now.

After reviewing one catalog and finding a topic you can write about quickly, the text is then distributed as a:

  • White paper or case study
  • Special report
  • Bonus with purchase
  • Post-teleseminar report
  • Why re-invent the wheel when your next great marketing idea is waiting in a catalog available at a local school or through their online site?
